The Solemnity of St. Joseph,
March 20th, 2006, marks the 18th Anniversary of The Servants of the Lord and
the Virgin of Matará. The Solemnity was celebrated with the Holy Sacrifice
of the Mass presided by the Archbishop of Washington, Theodore Cardinal
McCarrick at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate
Conception in Washington, D.C. During the Mass, Sister Mary Mother of Sorrow
made her Perpetual Vows of Poverty, Chastity, Obedience, and our
Fourth Vow of Total Consecration to Mary. As part of the ceremony, she
prostrated on the floor during the sung Litany of the Saints, received her
gold wedding band from the hands of Cardinal McCarrick, and was crowned with
flowers as symbol of her Espousal with Jesus Christ.
Sisters Maria Ina Namin and Maria Jerosolimitana renewed their Temporal Vows
and a novice received her habit and her new religious name: Sister Mary
Virgin of Humility. The celebration concluded with a reception at St. John
the Baptist de La Salle Catholic Church in Chillum, MD. |
